Bea Whitton Tufo, LPC, PMH-C CT & NY
Bea is a board-certified, licensed clinical psychotherapist and the founder of Women’s Mental Health Group, a boutique private practice serving women in Connecticut and New York. She completed her graduate studies and clinical training at Northwestern University and specializes in women’s mental health, with specific expertise in prenatal, postpartum, and maternal mental health.
Bea provides supportive, research-backed therapy that is tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and perinatal and maternal mental health concerns. Her work is grounded in a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that addresses both current symptoms and the deeper patterns that underlie them, with the goal of creating meaningful and lasting change. She integrates somatic and mindfulness-based techniques into her therapy to support holistic healing.
Bea is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C) and an EMDR therapist with advanced training in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat anxiety, trauma, and maternal mental health issues during pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood. Prior to founding Women’s Mental Health Group, Bea worked in various intensive outpatient and hospital-based settings supporting women at different stages of life and recovery.
In addition to her clinical work, Bea actively contributes to professional writing and clinical research in the fields of perinatal mental health and trauma-informed care, with a focus on advancing best practices for women’s mental health.
