Pregnancy & Postpartum Counseling

Pregnancy and early motherhood are profound transitions that can bring both joy and unexpected emotional vulnerability. Many women are surprised by how anxious, overwhelmed, or unlike themselves they feel during this stage, even when everything appears “fine” from the outside.

When Women Typically Reach Out

Women often seek therapy during this time when they notice:

  • Heightened anxiety or constant worry during pregnancy

  • Intrusive thoughts about their baby’s safety or well-being

  • Difficulty adjusting emotionally after birth

  • Pressure to feel grateful while privately feeling depleted or overwhelmed

  • Lingering distress after a difficult or traumatic birth

  • Stress related to infertility or pregnancy loss

  • Feeling unlike themselves in early motherhood

Specialized Perinatal Support

I am board certified in perinatal mental health and have advanced training and extensive experience in regularly supporting women navigating:

  • Prenatal anxiety and emotional adjustment

  • Postpartum depression, mood, and anxiety challenges

  • Body image issues and disordered eating during and after pregnancy

  • Processing difficult or traumatic birth experiences

  • Infertility and reproductive stress

  • Pregnancy after loss

  • Identity shifts and the mental load of modern motherhood

Maternal Identity & Emotional Adjustment

Beyond mood symptoms, many women struggle with the identity shift that accompanies motherhood — balancing career, relationships, expectations, and internal pressure to “do it all.” Therapy offers space to process these changes, reduce guilt and perfectionism, and develop a more sustainable and compassionate way of moving through this life stage.
